Samsung HT X810R Soundbar

When it comes to home theater systems everything boils down to one thing; the sound quality. A home theater system which can deliver a great sound without many wires and the subsequent hassles can only be too good to be true, yet that is what the Samsung HTX 810R delivers in a good looking package.

The HT X810R home theater system from Samsung works on a very simple concept of 'keeping it simple'. No tripping over wires and complicated jacks and plugs with this one. The entire home theater can be setup with just 3 wires. Yes, just 3.

Bluetooth connectivity and a built in DVD player complete the package of the fabulous HTX810R home theater system.

Samsung HT X810R Design

The HTX810R features a unique design with soundbar speakers and sub woofer instead of the usual 5.1 stereo speakers. At 7.1 inches in height, 39.3 inches in width and at 17.5 pounds, the soundbar speakers can be easily placed on the TV shelf or can also be conveniently mounted on the wall with the included bracket. The main speakers are placed in a beautiful curvaceous body which is a definitely eye catcher.

Though the entire HT X810R package comes in black, the main speakers sport a matte finish minimizing the fingerprint smudges. The box shaped subwoofer comes with a built in 150 watt amplifier which delivers perfect sound and in most cases there is no need to adjust the sub controls.

The top edge of the box sports a small readout display and also houses the built in DVD player. The engineers at Samsung have done a commendable job beautifully concealing the player which can only be revealed by the touch controls housed at the top.

Contrary to the concept of bulky subwoofers, the HT X810R comes with one which weighs just 19.6 pounds. Beautifully crafted just like the other components, the subwoofer stands at 16.2 inches in height and 10 inches in width. The piece can be tucked away easily due to the compact design and the complete lack of wires. The subwoofer connects to the main speakerboard through wireless and the only wire that is visible is the power chord.

Just like all Samsung products, a beautifully crafted remote control accompanies the home theater system. The remote can be used to change the central channel, adjust volume and even change the ID of the wireless subwoofer in case of any interference. Samsung TVs can also be easily tamed with the universal remote and with some minor programming tweaks other devices can also be brought under control.

HT X810R Setup

Setting up a home theater system is usually a struggle with wires, switches, jacks, plugs and the instruction manual. Samsung, known for its simple yet powerful devices, have built the HT X810 on similar lines. The HT X810R can be setup with just plug and play.

Simply power up the box and the entire system seems to work by itself. All it takes is just 3 wires:

1. Power to the main speakers.
2. Power to the sub woofer.
3. Connection to the TV.

As soon as it is plugged in the sub woofer connects seamlessly to the soundbar speaker without any additional setup.

The connection to the TV is just as simple. Simply plug in the TV cable in the slot provided and the HTX810R is ready to rock.
